Superb 19th C. New York School still life by Morston Constantine Ream depicting fruit & a gold fish in a fishbowl. Intricately patterened wall paper in background & bold chiaroscuro. C. 1870s in later gilt wood frame. Still life painter, Morston Ream was born in Ohio & moved to New York in 1868 to study painting. He exhibited in NYC, at the National Academy, Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Art, and the Brooklyn Art Association.
