Description
Antique Japanese Imari porcelain vase from the Meiji period (1868¨C1912). Hand-painted in rich cobalt blue, iron red, and gilt with floral cartouches and stylized motifs on a faceted baluster form. The unglazed base and pitted foot rim are typical of 19th-century export wares. A vibrant and elegant example of classic Imari craftsmanship. Light wear to gilt consistent with age. As would be expected with Meiji Period porcelain, there is not a maker’s mark.
